ABOUT THE COLORGUARD
The Vista Ridge Color Guard is a proud component of the VR Ranger Band, serving as the primary visual storytellers for our marching ensemble through stylized dance and equipment choreography. During the fall, our performers integrate with the marching band to bring music to life on the field. In the spring, we transition into the competitive Winterguard season, offering both Varsity and Junior Varsity programs that run from December through April. Beyond these primary seasons, our members are active throughout the year, representing Vista Ridge at football games, pep rallies, parades, and various school showcases.

The Varsity Winterguard proudly holds the title of TCGC 2026 Scholastic National A State Champions. We are incredibly proud of their commitment to excellence and their ability to represent Vista Ridge at the highest level of competitive winterguard.

Color Guard is a co-curricular activity at Vista Ridge. That means that along with after-school rehearsals, our students also participate in color guard classes during the school day. As a member of our program, our students satisfy both their PE and Fine Arts credits. Color Guard is a full year, double blocked course.
Color Guard Class Meets:
A Day - 4th Period 2:05 PM to 3:35 PM
B Day - 8th Period 2:05 PM to 3:35 PM
marching band rehearsals
During marching season, the color guard has one sectional night per week and two full marching band rehearsals. Below is the schedule for the majority of the season, although some exceptions apply.
Fall Color Guard Rehearsals:
Tuesday - 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Wednesday - 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Thursday - 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM
winterguard rehearsals
During Winter Guard season, our program divides into a Varsity & JV Team. Each program has two rehearsals per week. The Varsity Winter Guard may have the occasional additional rehearsals throughout the season. Below is the schedule for the majority of the season, although some exceptions apply.
Winter Guard Rehearsals:
Tuesday - Varsity Rehearsal 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Wednesday - Middle School Rehearsal 4:45 PM to 6:45 PM
Thursday - Varsity Rehearsal 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Friday - JV Rehearsal 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
