New this year to LISD – Complete the volunteer application | (en español)
Returning Volunteer – Log In to the Raptor Volunteer Portal (credentials will be emailed to volunteer once uploaded, check SPAM)
Volunteer accounts are active for an entire year (12 months) from the date of approval. A notification will be sent to the approved volunteer one month before expiration with instructions on how to renew or remove their volunteer account for the upcoming year.
LISD will use the information in the volunteer application to run a national background check. This process usually takes 2-3 business days.
Once approved, an email will be sent to the volunteer containing their login credentials and account information. Email communications will be sent from the domain – be sure to whitelist this domain so volunteer information will not be lost or sent to a spam folder.
There are countless ways to get involved -- from serving food during Band Camp to pushing speakers and equipment onto the field during competitions!
The following committees still need leads and/or co-leads.
These are critical to the success of the Ranger Band.

Hello from the Meal Crew Coordinators for the Vista Ridge Band for 2024-2025. Thank you for your interest in helping feed our band kids! For those of you that are new to the program, welcome to the VR Band Family! We serve a lot of meals to a lot of kids and with about 250+ students, plus directors and support staff, it will take a lot of help to accomplish filling those bellies!

This year we have had several alumni students express an interest to help serve their program. We’d love to have any alumni join our crew! They would need to complete LISD’s volunteer application as well.
It’s going to be a great year! We look forward to serving beside you!
The Roadies are a very important piece of the program, and you’ll find that you really feel like you are part of the action. We’re extremely excited for this year and look forward to working with everyone. Below are some frequent questions about the Roadies.
The Roadies are the muscle behind the band. We load/unload the trailer, move equipment on and off the field, help with building props along with other tasks requested of us. We assist the band at all performances during the marching season (football games, contests, public performances, etc)
Find out about upcoming opportunities to volunteer with the Roadies by joining the Roadies Slack channel at vrhsroadies.slack.com.
You need to use your best judgment to determine if you are capable of helping and to what extent. We have women and men of all ages and strength assisting us. Some things do require strength but a lot of things just require pushing around. If you have an ache or a pain, just let us know.
Generally, we will load all of the front ensemble equipment, electronics, podiums, props and instrument carts. Most everything that goes on the trailer gets moved on and off the field.
We will use the trailer (the big VR trailer) for most items. We will also have a box truck (or two) depending on needs. To drive the trailer, you will need a CDL license. To drive a box truck, no special license is required. All drivers must be registered volunteers and additional information is required by the district. Anyone interested in driving needs to contact Ryan Wood – Matt Spexarth
All events will be listed in Roadies slack channel. Contact Matt Spexarth for more details regarding signing up to be a Roadie.
We often have folks who want to volunteer as a Chaperone and a Roadie. That’s usually fine. The Chaperones have specific duties they need to do during the game that may interfere with some Roadie duties. We will work out the schedule if you are wanting to do both roles.
